Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed Star Wars: The Last Jedi will show baby versions of the adorable Porgs in at least one scene. The feathered natives of the planet Ahch-To have been the breakout stars of the marketing campaign, winning many fans over with their cute appearance. There is concern in some circles that they’ll end up being this generation’s answer to the Ewoks, but Episode VIII writer/director Rian Johnson has promised the Porgs earn their place in the movie, providing some levity in an otherwise darker affair.
Fans have already gotten a taste of how the Porgs will be implemented, as one is seen in the latest theatrical trailer letting out a ferocious battle cry while Chewbacca evades TIE fighters in the Millennium Falcon.
