Surprise box office #1 The Hitman’s Bodyguard is coming to home video – announced with a particularly NSFW trailer. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as a wisecracking Triple-A protection agent (the bodygaurd), who must protect former nemesis, sharpshooter Samuel L. Jackson (the hitman) so he can testify against a war criminal (played by Gary Oldman).
The film got mixed attention from critics, with the odd mix of serious narrative and jokey presentation (both Reynolds and Jackson are playing it funny), but it struck a chord with audiences, earning much stronger ratings and sitting at #1 at the domestic box office for three weeks at the end of Summer. Now it’s coming home.
