Original Suspiria star Jessica Harper has praised the remake, labeling it “brilliantly scary.” The original Suspiria was directed by Italian horror auteur Dario Argento, and the story revolves around an American dance student who moves into a German academy and investigates a string of gruesome murders. In addition to Argento’s flair for creative deaths, Suspiria is well known for its vibrant technicolor photography, eerie score and the way it works on a nightmarish dream logic. Suspiria is considered by many critics to be one of the best horror movies ever made, and remains Argento’s crowning achievement.
