Twentieth Century Fox is betting that Iron Man 3 director Shane Black can bring the Predator franchise back from a state of hibernation. The last film in the series, 2010’s Predators starring Adrien Brody, garnered some positive reviews but was only a modest success at the box office and failed to create demand for more installments in the action franchise. Black wrote a script with veteran scribe Fred Dekker (Robocop 3) and is currently shooting The Predator with an eye toward a February 2018 release date.
