Guardians of the Galaxy told a similar story to many superhero team-ups; a group of clashing personalities figures out how to work together in order to save the day. The difference between the Guardians and a similar group, like The Avengers, was that these folks would hardly call themselves heroes. Criminals and rogues, the five Guardians were almost enemies before they first decided to team up (and that was in order to break out of prison). Eventually, though, they managed to work together to literally save the galaxy.
