Good news for fans of Spider-Man: Homecoming: the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and the first solo Spider-Man film overseen by Marvel Studios) has now surpassed the domestic totals of each of Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man films.
When Homecoming opened earlier this month, it grossed a massive $117 million domestically, which made it the biggest opening weekend for a Spider-Man film since Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 way back in 2007 (that film opened to $151 million when not accounting for inflation).
