It has been confirmed that Paramount Pictures has just nabbed the rights to make the Sonic the Hedgehog movie from Sony. The property helped put Sega on the map and made the company known even among mainstream non-gaming audiences.
In 2016, it was announced that a Sonic the Hedgehog movie was in the works and Sony was set to produce and distribute the film. This, of course, is in line with the latest Hollywood trend of developing movies from established IP.
