Four new Star Wars Funko models are being released, to mark the 40th anniversary of George Lucas’ seminal space opera. The film that fans later came to know as Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope premiered – with the simpler title of just Star Wars – on December 27, 1977. The movie quickly became synonymous with merchandise. In fact, demand for Star Wars toys became so massive that Lucasfilm resorted to selling empty toy boxes, with the pledge of filling them later.
