J.J. Abrams says a Cloverfield team-up movie was considered at one point. Fans have been clamoring for a proper Cloverfield sequel since the first movie – directed by Matt Reeves and written by Drew Goddard – hit theaters in 2008, but the idea of making another monster film fell by the wayside when Godzilla and Pacific Rim entered the picture.
