Hawkeye’s absence from Avengers: Infinity War‘s marketing is part of a long play, according to the film’s directors. One of the biggest questions throughout the promotion of Infinity War has been the whereabouts of Hawkeye. Its no secret that he’s in the movie, but it’d be difficult to believe that by just looking at promos. Hawkeye hasn’t been featured in any Infinity War trailers (and was even cropped out of the newest Infinity War TV spot), and Jeremy Renner can’t even get his name on the poster.
