The New Mutants star Charlie Heaton says the movie’s reshoots will help to shape it into a full-fledged horror film set in the X-Men universe. Fox has been having issues with their X-Men franchise of late. With plans to kickoff brand-new franchises with little known characters and Disney’s Fox deal expected to be finalized by 2019, it’s unclear what shape the X-Men property will take over the next few years. Even the series’ 2018 slate changed recently, with both New Mutants and X-Men: Dark Phoenix being delayed to 2019.
