There has been a slight resurgence in sci-fi/space films in recent years. Films like Interstellar or Arrival brought thought-provoking takes to big-budget movies, while The Martian or Gravity took a more plausible approach to their stories. For Sony, they could be looking at venturing more into Alien waters by the look of Life. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, and Rebecca Ferguson, the movie follows a team of astronauts that discover the first sign of life on another planet… when something (inevitably) goes wrong.
The first trailer and international preview for Life builds up the potential likability of its leads, in order to make audiences more fearful for them once the alien life form begins to wreak havoc. Now, in anticipation for the Super Bowl tomorrow, a new spot and poster have been released.
