After a series of false starts, Pacific Rim: Uprising is finally on its way to becoming a reality. The sequel to director Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 action-adventure film in which a group of highly trained soldiers do battle with enormous Kaiju by piloting equally large robots called Jaegers was like many del Toro projects: prone to getting off the ground through fits and starts. But after bringing on Spartacus creator and former Daredevil showrunner Stephen S. DeKnight to helm the film, it has been relatively smooth sailing ever since.
