Not unlike its eponymous clown, the adaptation of Stephen King’s It is fast approaching, and in preparation of its September 8th premiere, some behind-the-scenes footage has been released to whet the collective appetite of horror fans everywhere.
Director Andy Muschietti (who tackled supernatural horror in 2013’s Mama) is taking a unique approach to King’s adaptation. Instead of jumping back and forth between the child and adult narratives from the original novel, he is splitting the story up into two parts. Part 1 will deal with the young group of Derry natives who dub themselves “the Losers’ Club,” while Part 2 (for which there have been no concrete production details released) will follow the same group of kids 27 years later.
