In the worst box office weekend of the year, both the holdovers and newcomers failed to leave a meaningful impression with moviegoers.
Repeating in the top spot is The Hitman’s Bodyguard, which brought in $10 million in its second weekend. That’s a 53 percent drop from its debut, a decent hold that was no doubt helped by the relative lack of competition. This was the first weekend in a while that did not see a new high-profile release, paving the way for the action-comedy to hold on to first place.
