Former A-list actress Cameron Diaz hasn’t made a new movie in years, and fellow actress Selma Blair offers a reason why: Diaz quietly retired. Making her film debut in 1994 Jim Carrey vehicle The Mask, it didn’t take long for Diaz – then a model – to garner major attention from both Hollywood at large and the public in general. While Diaz’s role of lounge singer – and love interest to lead character Stanley Ipkiss – Tina Carlyle did obviously focus a lot on her looks, Diaz’s aptitude for comedy also quickly became apparent, with her playing well off established comedic force Carrey.
