Mark Hamill is having fun reflecting on just how far Luke Skywalker’s action figures have come since the release of the first Star Wars film in 1977. The first episode in the blockbuster space opera, of course, revolutionized the movie marketing industry in the wake of the film’s surprise reception at the box office four decades ago, when George Lucas made the genius move of securing the rights to produce toys based on the film. Among them were the 3 3/4-inch action figures produced by Kenner, as well as 3 3/4-inch vehicles including Luke’s Landspeeder and X-wing fighter.
