To say that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was a divisive addition to the comic book genre, would be an understatement. Where critics and fans disagree about the film’s storytelling merits and overall quality though, there’s one thing that it seems like everyone appreciates: Dawn of Justice‘s spot-on visual quality compared to its comic book inspirations. With aspects of iconic stories like The Dark Knight Returns and even The Killing Joke, the film is a visual marvel from beginning to end, and provides an interesting new visual taste for a genre that has been critiqued for its overly familiar and similar aesthetic.
