After several X-Men movies that mostly featured modernized, understated costumes for the mutants, the makers of X-Men: Apocalypse decided to redesign the heroes’ appearance with outfits that more closely resembled the look in the original comics. Though the new costumes still were not as vibrant as the classic comics that inspired them, there’s enough detail in each hero’s look to qualify as a fitting homage.
One of the mutants who spent most of Apocalypse waiting to complete his classic look is Scott Summers, aka Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), who doesn’t don the original character’s trademark visor until near the end of the movie. A new deleted scene, however, reveals how Summers got the visor — and that he could have gotten it before the movie’s final battle.
