While Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are busy establishing their own monster movie universe for themselves, with a Kong vs Godzilla crossover in the works right now, Universal is busy establishing a similar cinematic universe for itself at the same time. Comprised of the classic, old school Victorian American movie monsters like Frankenstein and The Wolfman, the studio has ambitious plans for an interconnected universe, that was originally supposed to begin with 2014’s Dracula Untold. But this year, the universe is getting off to a bit of an unexpected start with The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise.
