The latest word from behind the scenes of the live-action Barbie movie has Academy Award winner (and host) Anne Hathaway circling the film’s lead role. Following recent developments that saw the departure of comic actor Amy Schumer, things have been a little up in the air with regard to the Sony production. With a summer 2018 release date in place, the movie has yet to find a director and has gone through numerous drafts from several prominent screenwriters — most notably including Juno scribe Diablo Cody.
