Oscar-nominee Gabourey Sidibe is having fun pondering the idea of being in a superhero movie someday. Sidibe, of course, burst onto the scene in Hollywood in 2009 playing the titular role in Precious, which earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination. She’s alternated between film and television ever since, with roles in such movies as Tower Heist and Seven Psychopaths, and has had recurring turns on TV’s The Big C, American Horror Story and most recently on Empire, which was created by her Precious director Lee Daniels.
And while Sidibe’s credits have tended to learn more toward the dramatic end in film and TV (save her roles on AHS’ Coven and Freak Show), it turns out the acclaimed actress has a big interest in the superhero genre.
