Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts reveals the “great” advice he got from The Amazing Spider-Man director, Marc Webb. And to say that the Spider-Man character has had a crazy couple of years on the big screen as of late, would be an understatement. It was only three years ago, after all, that Sony released The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in theaters, with big plans for the future of its expanded Spider-Man cinematic universe. But when that film was met with harsh critical reviews and disappointing box office receipts, Sony changed plans, entered into a partnership with Marvel Studios to reboot the character again, but this time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
