In the latest episode of Screen Junkie’s Emmy nominated Honest Trailers, they take a look at one of this movie season’s earliest and biggest hits, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. In May, Marvel released the much anticipated sequel, which had an impressive $146 million dollar opening and enjoys a 82 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer. The follow-up was a success on multiple levels and with the principle cast poised to return in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War, it seems that the franchise will inevitably go to even higher heights.
Director James Gunn returned to write and direct the sequel and chose to focus the movie around the theme of family bonds.
