Jon Favreau’s live-action remake of The Lion King is closing in on finding its villain, with Chiwetel Ejiofor currently in talks to voice Scar. Disney continues to churn through their previous animated classics at rapid pace and one with their immediate focus is bringing a “live-action” take to one of their all-time classics. Favreau is no stranger to this process following The Jungle Book, but The Lion King presents a new series of challenges thanks to its status amongst fans, but also the lack of any human component.
