Thor memorably wields, loses, then reclaims the hammer known as Mjolnir as he proves his worth at the end of his first solo adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The titular hero ultimately proves himself worthy of Mjolnir’s immense power through self-sacrifice, which allows him to defeat the “Destroyer” unleashed by Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and save Earth from its threat.
