A pair of newcomers led the way at the box office this week, but the debuts weren’t much to write home about.
In first is Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (read our review), which made $28.5 million in its first three days. Though the film was seen by some critics (but not all) as a return to form for the famously oddball director, the debut is actually lower than Burton’s flop Dark Shadows ($29.6 million).
