A new Transformers: The Last Knight video teases the “secret history” of the Transformers on Earth. The hugely successful Transformers franchise started out like a traditional movie trilogy, but it’s expanding beyond that. Inspired by shared movie universes like those created from Marvel and DC properties, director Michael Bay promises an expansive mythology in his fifth – and (perhaps) final – movie in the series, Transformers: The Last Knight. Though Bay is likely bowing out, the promise of an expanded Transformers universe is setting up for more installments in the franchise.
Transformers: The Last Knight is bringing back familiar faces like Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Josh Duhamel, and Tyrese Gibson, as well as longtime favorite Autobots and Decepticons. But The Last Knight is also expected to deeply explore the history of the Transformers in ways that hasn’t been done before in the franchise, led by an intriguing new character played by Anthony Hopkins. ...
