It was a close race for the top spot, but DreamWorks Animation managed to pull off a surprising upset and dethrone the great Disney at the box office this weekend.
Coming in first is the new family film The Boss Baby (read our review), which brought in an impressive $49 million in its first three days. It was able to greatly surpass the expectations going into its premiere, taking advantage of a rather barren landscape for this kind of kid-friendly fare. There hadn’t been a major animated movie playing in theaters since The LEGO Batman Movie opened back in February, so it filled a void in some respects. ...
