Three years ago this month Edgar Wright, the director of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and one of the more respected filmmakers working today, announced that he was dropping out of his previously announced commitment to direct Marvel’s Ant-Man. Just a couple of months later, Wright announced that Baby Driver, a heist film that he’d been talking about as far back as 2004, would serve as his next directorial effort instead.
Two years after the release of Peyton Reed’s version of Ant-Man, we’ve seen Baby Driver‘s production, post-production, multiple trailers, and its debut at South by Southwest in March, as well as multiple release date changes.
