Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales pits Jack Sparrow against the dead in a new TV trailer and IMAX poster. The long-awaited fifth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise will try to recapture the magic of the first, The Curse of the Black Pearl. The last three Pirates movies have ridden Johnny Depp’s star power and eye-popping visual effects to box office success, but haven’t been as compelling or memorable than the movie that launched the series.
In Dead Men Tell No Tales, Depp as Sparrow faces perhaps his most formidable foe yet: the dead. He will face an army of undead pirate hunters commanded by Captain Armando Salazar (Javier Bardem), who aspires to eradicate all living pirates and exact revenge on his old rival Sparrow in the process. The inevitable showdown between Sparrow and Salazar is highlighted in the movie’s newest TV trailer.
