Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins says the upcoming DCEU superhero film will include subtle homages to the 1970s TV series. Any fan anticipating the June 2 debut of the Wonder Woman knows the Amazon warrior princess’ roots are in the TV series of the same name. The ABC/CBS series, which ran from 1975-79, made actress Lynda Carter a cultural icon; and her presence was so dominating that it makes one wonder if it was a contributing factor to the reason prolific TV producer David E. Kelley couldn’t get a new live-action Wonder Woman series (starring Adrienne Palicki) off the ground in 2011.
