Marvel Studios is celebrating 10 years of the MCU in 2018, with the year marking a decade since Iron Man premiered in 2008 and officially kicked off the sprawling superhero franchise. One key way Iron Man launched the MCU was with the use of a post-credits scene, which featured Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury approaching Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) about the Avengers Initiative. Ever since, post-credits scenes have been a major part of MCU worldbuilding and often work as teasers for upcoming films.
