The first sets photos from the live-action movie Detective Pikachu have arrived, offering a look at the Ryme City Police Department and a rash of missing Pokémon. In a little over a year, the first live-action Pokémon film will hit theaters, and it’s hardly what anyone expected. Based on the American remake of Detective Pikachu (a Japanese game released last year), the film will feature a talking Pikachu with attitude solve mysteries alongside a human partner. The game is one of the more inventive in the Pokémon library, which suggests that the film adaptation will be even more idiosyncratic by comparison.
