Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has proved the most surprising box office success of 2017. In fact, it’s now officially outgrossed Spider-Man: Homecoming in the domestic box office.
Nobody quite expected Jumanji to be such a remarkable success. When Sony announced the reboot, fans were divided. Some went so far as to consider the reboot disrespectful, given the recent death of Robin Williams. But, against all the odds, Jumanji has now become Sony’s biggest blockbuster of 2017.
