The first trailer for Disney’s Christopher Robin is now online. A live-action adaptation of Winnie the Pooh has been in development for almost three years. The Mouse House first announced plans to develop Christopher Robin in 2015, shortly after the studio achieved worldwide success with Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella, starring Lily James. The film proved that Disney’s trend of producing live-action films based on their past animated properties was a good bet.
Quantum of Solace and World War Z director Marc Forster is directing Christopher Robin based on a script from Alex Ross Perry (Golden Exits) and Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures). Tom McCarthy (Spotlight, 13 Reasons Why) also rewrote a draft of the film last year but isn’t officially credited for writing the final screenplay.
