Traditionally, Star Wars movies have always been trilogies. Additional stories have been told through television series, books, made for TV movies about the Ewoks, and that infamous Christmas Special. However, the movies have always told one third of a story each. That changed with last year’s release of the first Star Wars spinoff movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.Disney is now planning to switch off every year between the newest Star Wars trilogy film and the next spinoff film, with Star Wars: The Last Jedi launching next in 2017, followed by the Untitled Han Solo Movie in 2018.
