Iconic video game heroine Lara Croft has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, thanks to the critical/commercial success of the 2013 Tomb Raider game franchise reboot and its 2015 followup, Rise of the Tomb Raider. Lara is returning to the big screen too, with the first official images of Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, Jason Bourne) in character as the world-traversing archaeologist having now been released online.
