Things are looking both bleak and hopeful in two new Blade Runner 2049 posters, teasing the return to Ridley Scott’s dystopian future. Like many artists do as they grow older, Ridley Scott is plumbing his creative past for future projects. A few years ago, he returned to the world he created with Alien and brought audiences Prometheus, a loose prequel to the universe. Later this year, Alien: Covenant will bridge the gap between the two worlds and likely jumpstart a fresh franchise. Even more surprising than Scott’s return to the Alien series, however, is the upcoming sequel to Blade Runner.
