Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle passed Justice League at the worldwide box office this weekend, thus making the film an even bigger financial success for Sony Pictures. The standalone sequel to Joe Johnston’s 1995 fantasy comedy, Jumanji (loosely based on Chris Van Allsburg’s 1981 novel of the same name), comes from Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan and Spider-Man: Homecoming screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, as well as Gone in Sixty Seconds‘ Scott Rosenberg and LOST‘s Jeff Pinkner.
