The new Tomb Raider movie is set to hit theaters in March, which means the marketing blitz for the film is basically under way, as evidenced by the new TV spot released by Warner Bros. Aside from a poster mishap in which it appeared as though star Alicia Vikander was approximately 80 percent neck, the feature film reboot has offered up a new adventure that looks remarkably like the video game reboot from 2013. That should at the very least earn this effort some points for attempting to give fans what they want to see.
Still, it remains to be seen whether or not the new film directed by Roar Uthaug will break the video game curse, or if Vikander’s time as Lara Croft will be another adaptation that falls short critically and financially. To the film’s credit, it would seem as though ...
