Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown will play Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister in Legendary’s Enola Holmes. Legendary reportedly hopes to launch a franchise starring Brown as Holmes, a fourteen-year-old sleuth. Brown broke through playing the telekinetic teenager Eleven on Netflix’s smash hit sci-fi series Stranger Things.
Arthur Conan Doyle’s brilliant detective Sherlock Holmes, of course, has a long history on film and in television. Movie versions of the character’s sleuthing adventures date back to the earliest silent days. Basil Rathbone established himself as the quintessential Hollywood Holmes through fourteen movies produced between 1939 and 1946.
