Despite some fan outrage, Rian Johnson thinks the new Force powers displayed by Luke in Star Wars: The Last Jedi are perfectly legitimate. There’s been no end to the debate surrounding the latest Star Wars film, but few can deny that writer and director Rian Johnson certainly brought something different to the franchise. Regardless of what faults the film may have, however, The Last Jedi is a box office success the world over. With $1.2 billion and climbing in global sales, the film helped Disney win last year at the box office and is outstripping climbing up the all-time charts at a steady pace.
