A fan-made film about Tom Marvolo Riddle is currently making the rounds online piquing the interest of Harry Potter fans who are still clamoring for new content from the famed franchise. Titled Voldemort: The Origins of the Heir, which is spearheaded by Tryangle Films, the project aims to tell the backstory of the famous villain before he turned into the evil Lord Voldemort in the book and film series.
For a time, the project went through a legal battle with Warner Bros. given that the movie studio owns the right to the property, forbidding anyone to use any of the concepts and characters from the Harry Potter saga without their permission. During the debacle, its Kickstarter campaign was clipped by the company until Tryangle bosses Gianmaria Pezzato and Stefano Prestia had a dialog with the property holders.
