Brie Larson is officially filming Captain Marvel, and some set photos tease the start of her MCU career. It will be 11 years since the Marvel Cinematic Universe began by the time Captain Marvel hits theaters. Even though it will be Marvel Studios’ 21st film, it will be the first solely led female film. Not only that, but it also marks the first time a female director (albeit a co-director in this case) takes control. Both are milestones that are a long time coming.
