The new poster for Annihilation teases what’s in store for Natalie Portman and her team in the upcoming sci-fi adaptation. After the overwhelming success of Ex Machina, director Alex Garland’s next project was already a topic of immense interest. When it was announced he’d be adapting the first part of the Southern Reach Trilogy, sci-fi audiences knew they were in for something special. Whether Annihilation will be a trilogy of films or not will depend on the success of the first film, but the potential for a surreal science-fiction franchise is certainly there.
