Following the reaction to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, Warner Bros, DC Films, and Zack Snyder have taken a new direction in tone with Justice League. The trailer promises a lighter and more comedic tone than the DCEU has given audiences so far, and has stacked the cast with well-known actors to further draw in viewers. Just recently, co-star Ben Affleck teased the arrival of Deathstroke in the movie, who would join a few other characters by making their debut in Justice League. One of the new faces that has not yet been teased is the newest Commissioner Jim Gordon, played by J.K. Simmons.
