Though Edgar Wright spent nearly a decade working on Ant-Man with Marvel Studios before departing over creative differences, the auteur says he’s still never seen the final film. Without Wright’s involvement, Ant-Man likely wouldn’t have been a film on the Marvel slate. Though pitched along with a number of other projects that have yet to manifest, it was the vision of the idiosyncratic writer and director that helped to keep it alive for so long. By the time Marvel realized Wright’s singular vision was clashing with theirs, the film was far enough along that it was better to finish it than scrap it.
