Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows may have been a critically panned sequel in the Michael Bay-produced, rebooted series, but its commitment to fan service offers up moments of fun and entertainment that feel genuine to the world of TMNT. The introduction of fan-favorite characters from both the comics and the cherished ’80s cartoon helped to make Out of the Shadows feel like a live-action reimagining of the source material rather than an unfamiliar entity draped in turtle aesthetics.
