It was a very slow Labor Day weekend at the box office, which benefitted the holdovers more than the newcomers.

In the number one spot again is Don’t Breathe with $15.7 million. The horror film dropped only 40.6 percent from its opening weekend, indicating that it has strong legs commercially and has found a sizable audience. To date, it’s grossed $51.1 million domestically, far surpassing its minuscule $9.9 million production budget. Thanks to its strong reviews, Don’t Breathe has been another bright spot at the end of summer and did well financially.
